Wat Chong Samaesan has prepared this Privacy Policy to inform users and visitors of Wat Chong Samaesan’s policy regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data. This policy is in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) (“PDPA”), as well as other relevant laws and regulations.

This Privacy Policy explains how Wat Chong Samaesan collects, uses, or discloses your personal data, the types of data collected, the purposes of such processing, the retention period, disclosure of personal data to third parties, your rights, confidentiality and security measures for your personal data, and how you may contact Wat Chong Samaesan.

The Temple may receive your information directly from you, through the Temple’s website or other online channels, or from other sources that are not directly from you, such as other organizations, security service providers, or social media platforms.

 

2.3 Retention Period of Personal Data

Wat Chong Samaesan will retain your personal data for the purposes stated in this policy for as long as necessary. The Temple may continue to retain and use your personal data for up to 10 years after your relationship with the Temple has ended, only as necessary for the purposes of collecting the personal data or as required by law.

 

3. Purposes of Collecting Personal Data

Wat Chong Samaesan may collect, use, and/or disclose your personal data where necessary for legitimate interests, with your consent, or under other lawful grounds, for the following purposes:

1. To manage and administer your information for participation in activities organized by the Temple.
2. To provide information, advice, announcements, and public relations regarding temple activities, services, or events through the channels you have provided.
3. To improve temple services, activities, communications, and public relations.
4. To communicate with you, respond to inquiries, and provide assistance.
5. To verify your identity before providing certain services.
6. To conduct research and development for improving temple services and activities.
7. To provide services and contact you by communication channels or postal delivery, such as activity notifications, donation information, or temple news.
8. To comply with agreements or arrangements.
9. To comply with the law and/or for public interest.
10. To prevent or suppress danger to life, body, or health of any person.

If you do not provide your personal data to Wat Chong Samaesan, the Temple may not be able to provide certain services or assistance in some cases.

4. Protection of Personal Data

Wat Chong Samaesan will protect your personal data with appropriate technical and administrative measures to ensure the security of personal data processing and to prevent data breaches, loss, unauthorized access, destruction, use, alteration, modification, misuse, or disclosure outside the stated purposes or without proper authority.

You are free to give or withhold consent for Wat Chong Samaesan to collect, use, or disclose your personal data. The Temple will not make consent a condition for receiving services if such personal data is not necessary or relevant to the service.

Wat Chong Samaesan also requires its personnel, representatives, and persons who receive personal data from the Temple to keep your personal data confidential and secure according to the measures set by the Temple.

If the personal data owner is a minor under the Civil and Commercial Code, consent must be obtained from the person with parental authority who has the power to act on behalf of the minor. If the minor is under 10 years old, consent must be obtained directly from the person with parental authority.

If the personal data owner is an incompetent or quasi-incompetent person, consent must be obtained from the legal guardian or curator who has the authority to act on behalf of such person.

Wat Chong Samaesan will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is accurate, up to date, complete, and not misleading.

   Disclosure of Personal Data

    5.1 Categories of Personal Data Recipients

In carrying out its activities, Wat Chong Samaesan may need to disclose necessary personal data to service providers or related partners, such as website service providers, communication service providers, activity organizers, data analysis service providers, security service providers, postal or delivery service providers, and other parties as necessary for the purposes stated in Section 3.

5.2 Transfer of Personal Data Abroad

In some cases, Wat Chong Samaesan may transfer stored data to databases or servers located outside Thailand, operated and managed by service providers or partners abroad. Such transfer will be carried out in accordance with applicable personal data protection laws in Thailand, and the data will be protected with appropriate security measures.

2. You may request access to, a copy of, correction of, or updating of your personal data held by Wat Chong Samaesan to ensure it is accurate, current, complete, and not misleading.
3. You may request disclosure of the source of personal data that you did not directly provide or consent to.
4. You have the right to request that Wat Chong Samaesan send or transfer your personal data to another data controller, where applicable by law.
5. You may object to the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data, or request restriction of the use of your personal data in certain cases as permitted by law.
6. You may request that Wat Chong Samaesan delete, destroy, or anonymize your personal data in certain cases as permitted by law.
